Lingzhi

Lingzhi is one of the treasures of Chinese medicine. Named the "Grass of Heaven", it has been proven through pharmaceutical studies and clinical research that it is useful in preventing certain diseases and increases one’s longevity. It is categorized as medicine as well as health food. The word LINGZHI in Chinese means "herb of spiritual potency" and has also been described as "mushroom of immortality".

Lingzhi is an excellent natural health supplement with many valuable benefits and does not have any side effects. The common name is known as Lucid Ganoderma while the botanical name is Ganoderma Lucidum. The taste is sweet and the property is neutral, hence suitable to be consumed by anyone.

Modern scientific studies have found that Lingzhi is rich in pharmaceutical compounds. They are further divided into 10 different categories, including Lingzhi polysaccharides, Lingzhi polypeptides, triterpene, 16 types of amino acids (7 of which are indispensable to humans), proteins, coumarin, alkaloids, organic acids and micro-elements such as Ge, P, Fe, Ca, Mn, Zn, etc.

Lingzhi helps maintain the body's balance and alleviate certain illnesses related to the cardiac system, brain vessels, the digestive, neural, endocrine, and respiratory systems. It is particularly effective in treating tumor, hepatic diseases and age prevention.

Lingzhi is good for various ailments because its basic function is the enhancement of the body's internal balance and strengthening of the immune system. It is different from other dietary supplements duo to its regulating and balancing effects on the entire body.

Some specific benefits of Lingzhi include:

1. Enhances immune functions to help prevent tumors
Tumor development may be caused by a weak immune system. Lingzhi regulates and strengthens the immune system and increases the body's internal self defense mechanisms against tumors development.

Lingzhi enhances the function of monocytic macrophages by activating the synthesis of interleukin. It enhances the blood synthesis capacity, particularly at the white blood cell level. Proper and sustained usage of Lingzhi produces an inhibiting effect on the cancer cells and is one of the most effective dietary supplements for tumor and cancer prevention. It can be used in combination with other traditional cancer treatments.

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes the causes of cancer are multiple, including toxins and other environmental factors, called "external causes," as well as "internal causes" such as emotional stress, unhealthy eating habits and accumulated wastes and toxins from food could damage organs. Two main factors are stagnation of blood and blockage of qi, which is the vital energy circulating along the meridians, linking all parts of the body.

Its primary focus is to help speed up the metabolism of the medicine and reduce the toxicity of the liver. Besides cancer, Lingzhi can also be used to treat other chronic ailments such as hepatitis or reduce related symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue.

    3. Effects on Allergies

    If the body is invaded by an antigen that elicits an immunological reaction leading to various abnormalities and immunopathological symptoms, Lingzhi may be effective in suppressing allergic reactions and help the body recover more rapidly. Lingzhi helps stop the release of hyper-reactive factors and prevents the development of allergic reactions. Lingzhi has been found to help alleviate the symptoms of asthma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, allergic rhinitis, and certain skin diseases.

    4. Helps with nerve system and develops better sleep

    Lingzhi is used to treat neurasthenia and insomnia. Extracts from Lingzhi work on the central nervous system and inhibit and reduce the levels of abnormal brain activity.

    5. Delays Aging
    The polysaccharides and polypeptides found in Lingzhi effectively help delay aging through the following factors:

    The enhancement and regulation function of Lingzhi for immune system effectively delay aging in adults. For youngsters the immune system can be optimized to ensure healthy growth.

    Regulates metabolism and enhances synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins. Chinese research shows Lingzhi enhances the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins in blood plasma, liver and bone marrow, therefore effectively used for delay aging.

    Lingzhi eliminates free radicals by enhancing anti-oxidizing agents that are essential for counteracting damage to the body by free radicals. The properties of Lingzhi polysaccharides are very similar to SOD which can eliminate the free radicals and help prevent lipid oxidation. Such action protects the cells and delays aging of the cells.

    Because Lingzhi mushroom contains chitin which locks up medicinal components, preparations of Lingzhi are unlikely to be medicinally active unless there has been a special extraction. The most effective part of the Lingzhi is the spores. Just like all living things, in order to reproduce, the Lingzhi spores are protected by a hard cell, which keeps the essential nutrients in a powdery form. After the cracking process, the shells protecting the spores are cracked, exposing the essence, which is the spores, and thus can be absorbed by the stomach. The therapeutic effect of having absorbed the cracked Lingzhi Spore powder is 75 times that of the Lingzhi plant itself.

    Currently, there are 2 versions of Lingzhi spores in the market - the cracked and the un-cracked.
